It's water-repellent, not waterproof. It handles snow and light rain well, but a long downpour will eventually soak through. For most everyday weather, you'll stay dry.
How do I take the hood off?
The hood detaches at the collar. It takes a few seconds, and the collar still sits clean and closed once it's off.
Is it too warm for walking or hiking?
